Forgeries@Froggwell…starts TOMORROW!

No matter how many years I’ve been creating art and organizing shows, there is always more to do at the last minute, especially when you are dealing with multiple artists.

We are still on target to open tomorrow

Another round of thanks to the “installation angels”: Harriet and Stacy took a whole bunch ( over 65 paintings and sculptures) of very different work by over 20 different artists and made a exhibition that the Metropolitan Museum would be proud of.  Robin took all the information that everyone sent in slightly (or very) different formats and made sense of it so that everyone knows just what they are looking at. And she thought yesterday would be her day “off” from work. :o)

Paintings, woodblock prints and sculptures galore.

A loud round of applause to all the artists who not only created some kick-ass work, but also came up with stories and provenances to explain how these paintings came to be available for showing at The Froggwell Cultural Institute.  (Editor’s note to art history students: Do not use these documents as the basis of research for your next term paper.)

I hope this sneak preview entices you to come on out to Whidbey Island this weekend.  I hope to get one more post in tomorrow, and then see you in person this weekend.

If only Vincent had had more comfortable shoes, he might not have gone mad.
