Who Wants a Sneak Peek?

I can’t believe that with only (really) 2 days to finish the installation of paintings and prints, that I am calmly sitting here writing a blog post.  Delivery by the artists went extremely well.  I didn’t even have to yell at anyone.  I guess after 8 years of doing this show, everyone has figured out that it is better if I am in a good mood, and they bring their work and labels and lists on time.

The show thus far, actually not terribly messy, all things considered.

The three sculptors met in the garden this morning and a consensus on placement of works by Sharon Spencer, Sue Taves and Al Tennant was peaceably and aesthetically achieved.

One of Al Tennant’s ceramic sculptures with the house at Froggwell in the Background.

You can see another of Al’s pieces in the background as well as one of Sharon Spencers.  One of the great things about this show, is that part of it takes place in a garden that is itself a work of art.  The sculptures seem to rise out of the ground as if they were some strange plant life, or rock formation.

Sharon Spencer, bronze sculpture.

But the art in the garden is only the beginning.

One of the unique features of this show is that it’s in a house.  That someone lives in.  So, it’s a small leap for people to imagine what this painting or that sculpture would look like in their house.

But we don’t stop there.  How much more brilliant would your morning writing or philosophical musings be, if you wrote them in these books?

The show starts THIS Friday at 10AM and of course, as these are all hand made prints, books, sculptures and paintings, quantities are not infinite.  We hope you’ll dance on in…
